The picture below is proabably one of Stefan Sägmeister’s most well-known image. His works have been described and risky and controversial, but I think that’s what makes him such a memorable designer.
In a way, he reminds me of David Carson – not entirely, but by the way in which he hand-draws his letters and shapes his words and letter sizes etc.
Sägmeister was born in Bregenz, Austria in 1962, and is a New York-based graphic designer and typographer. He has his own design firm – Sagmeister Inc. – in New York City. He has designed album covers for Lou Reed, OK Go, The Rolling Stones, David Byrne, Aerosmith and Pat Metheny.
