Everyone is freaking me out talking about this ‘Nostradamus’ that’s going to take place in December of 2012. The 2023 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on December 21, 2012. This date is regarded as the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar. Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae related to this date have been proposed.
Some suggest that the 2012 date marks the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. Scenarios suggested for the end of the world include the arrival of the next solar maximum, or Earth’s collision with a black hole or a passing asteroid or planet called “Nibiru”.
“A black hole is a region of space-time from which nothing, not even light can escape”
Sorry but that is terrifying. I’ve always heard about the black hole and wondered if it actually exists but it seems it does! It baffles me how it can exist though, just a black hole in space that kind of sucks everything in.
The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass will deform spacetime to form a black hole. Around a black hole there is a mathematically defined surface called an event horizon that marks the point of no return. It is called “black” because it absorbs all the light that hits the horizon, reflecting nothing, just like a perfect black body in thermodynamics. Quantum mechanics predicts that black holes emit radiation like a black body with a finite temperature. This temperature is inversely proportional to the mass of the black hole, making it difficult to observe this radiation for black holes of stellar mass or greater.
I never used to be frightened of the sea, and I’m still not now really but I just get a bit scared going near any seaweed – but I’ve never been sure of why that is. I think it might be because I wonder whats actually inside of it, and it also highlights the bed of the sea. So if you’re swimming over deep water, and you know its deep but you don’t know how deep, theres something thats kind of good about that – but when you swim over seaweed you can tell how deep the water genuinely is which really freaks me out. I went scuba diving before but it was in more of an Aquarium in America and it was a really good experience (probably because it wasn’t horrifically deep) and it kind of got me thinking about the sea and how many millions of animals and plants are in there that we have never even documented or heard about. So that is one of my curiosities! What really lies under the sea?
I guess I am a believer of the Big Bang. I’m not a religious person, so I don’t choose to believe that God just made the world in the click of a finger, but thats just me. I always have to have an explanation for something to believe in it, and although theres not a strong explanation for how the world began, I feel the scientific version is more plausible.
“The Big Bang theory is the prevailing cosmological model of the early development of the universe. The major premise of the Big Bang theory is that the universe was once in an extremely hot and dense state that expanded rapidly (a “Big Bang”). This rapid expansion caused the young universe to cool and resulted in its present continuously expanding state. According to recent measurements, scientific evidence, and observations, the original state happened around 13.7 billion years ago, which can be referred to as the time that the Big Bang occurred.”
I’m pretty straightforward, I don’t really believe in magic and things like that even though I want to. I think I’m quite a sceptical person really, which is a trait that I don’t like about myself. This kind of led me to thinking about life after death and where we actually go. Some people believe in reincarnation; I like the idea of it a lot, but realistically, I don’t think thats actually going to happen. I don’t think we leave our bodies and float up to heaven and live in the clouds, etc. I don’t know what I believe, which is why I am always curious about life after death and finding out what actually happens to us?
I don’t like the thought of just dying and staying underground in a coffin or whatever, so I think I’m just going to leave this question unanswered for the time being.
Ok, this is weird. Ive heard about this a lot and have never really understood about it or how the hell it happened. The thing that freaked me out the most is Ive been to Florida and I’ve been on a cruise around the Carribean which is really close to the triangle and I didn’t even know! EEEEK!
“The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels allegedly disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have stated that the number and nature of disappearances in the region is similar to that in any other area of ocean.“
Again another thing which I don’t really know how to explain. How on earth have we been made? Our bodies are so amazing, its like a clock; all these little mechanisms working together to make one overall amazing thing. If we didn’t have our eyes, we couldn’t see. How do our eyes even work? How do our ears work? They’re just little holes, like any other hole anywhere else so why do they let us hear, just cause they’re on our body? I don’t get it. And the one thing that really gets me is the brain. I don’t even want to go into it because I know I will never understand, Im just going to say to myself that someone or something made us, and they were brilliant.
Dreams are a curious little thing aswell aren’t they. How do our brains just shut down and allow us to have these really weird stories play out in our mind? And they are so believable aswell, sometimes you wake up and aren’t sure whether it actually happened or not. I woke up being really annoyed at a friend before because she was horrible to me in my dream and I thought it was real life! I think its pretty strange that we never know when a dream has begun or ended, we can never tell. You’re in school and you’re absolutely naked in the middle of a classroom… but why would you have left the house with no clothes on anyway? You wouldn’t, and I think thats why dreams are good because they teach you neverrrr to leave the house with no clothes on 😀
It’s been said that a dream can last from a number of seconds up to 20 minutes… 20 minutes?! It felt like about 100 hours when I was dreaming!
